There is never ending argument about who is the better footballer in the world between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Messi has been awarded the Ballon d’Or six times while Ronaldo has clinched it on five occasions. However, both the talismanic forwards, have given football plenty to cherish about.
It is not the first time India captain Virat Kohli has picked his favourite between the two. He has been asked the question several times by fans before being asked about the same during an interactive session with Kevin Pietersen on Instagram.
Here is who Virat Kohli picked
Virat Kohli takes Juventus’ Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo as his inspiration. He likes his fitness regime, hard work and work ethics. Kohli has made his choice clear several times and he picked Ronaldo over Messi once again.
“I love his work ethic and ability to deflect all the crap on the outside,” Kohli said.
“Messi is a freak, absolute natural talent, and his ability is second to none. For me, what stands out is the ability or the will to put in the effort in every single minute of the game. Ronaldo’s drive separates him from everyone else. Playing at the top level, everyone has talent, but I don’t think anyone has the will that he has,” he had said in an interview to TOI.
Alike Ronaldo, Kohli also likes to maintain a strict diet and fitness schedule. Ronaldo is the most fittest athlete in the world and Kohli is not very far behind him.
