Virat Kohli Roped in as Brand Ambassador of Too Yumm Snacks

Team India skipper Virat Kohli has been roped in as the brand ambassador for RP Sanjiv Goenka’s Group for it’s packaged snacking brand, Too Yu. They are trying to scale up the FMCG Business which has almost crossed Rs 100 crores in 7 months of its launch as told by the chairman of the company. As per reports the company is targeting sales of more than Rs 500 crores from the FMCG business and is also in the process of setting up the first FMCG greenfield manufacturing plant in Telangana. Sanjiv Goenka conceded that that investment is of Rs 200 crores.

“The contract with Kohli is for two years and currently limited to this brand (Too Yumm), but we may explore a future relationship with him for other FMCG categories as and when we enter them,” said Goenka.

As of now, the company has two of its’ won plants making FMCG Products as told by Goenka by virtue of acquiring more than 70% stake in the Gujarat based snack maker Apricot Food. Meanwhile, the eVita Namkeen brand is owned by Apricot.

As per Goenka’s words, the Telangana plant has been set up over 27 acres and is expected to be ready within a year with a capacity of 1,000 tonnes for a month. Presently the company has a capacity of 300 tonnes a month. They are making plans for the further acquisition.

“FMCG is the group’s next big bet and will become a billion-dollar operation in the next four years. It is already clocking 15 crore sales a month which we want to double by March so that in 2018-19 the revenue touches Rs 500 crore. While we plan to expand the FMCG business into more categories, the immediate focus is to establish the snacking business,” said Goenka.

It must be noted that the Too Yumm brand has been distributed to 50,000 stores pan Indian and plans to triple that number in the coming three months.
