Former India batsman Yuvraj Singh has revealed how MS Dhoni made the picture clear for him regarding his future in international cricket. In June last year, the batting legend brought down curtains on his illustrious career all of a sudden after failing to make the cut for the World Cup in England.

He had made a sensational comeback to the ODI team in 2017 and was a part of the team that made it to the final of the 2017 Champions Trophy. However, his form soon dipped and after he failed to deliver on the subsequent tour of West Indies, he was dropped from the team.

He waited for more than a year for another recall but it did not happen. The World Cup-winning star eventually decided to walk away from the game.

MS Dhoni showed me the real picture:

Recalling his axing from the team and the World Cup snub, Yuvraj Singh revealed that it was Virat Kohli who backed him till the very end, but former skipper MS Dhoni showed him the real picture and said that he wasn’t in the scheme of things for 2019 World Cup.

“When I made my comeback, Virat Kohli supported me. Had he not backed me then I wouldn’t have made a comeback. But then it was Dhoni who showed me the correct picture about the 2019 World Cup that selectors are not looking at you,” Yuvraj Singh told News18. “He showed me the real picture. He gave me clarity. He did as much as he could.”

The legendary batsman, who is regarded as one of India’s greatest match-winners, ended his career with an outstanding ODI record of 8701 runs at an average of 36.55 and 111 wickets. Yuvraj Singh played an instrumental role when India won the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 World Cup.
