Virat Kohli Wins Over Fans With His Special Message For Prithvi Shaw

Prithvi Shaw has hit the ground running since returning to action after serving a backdated suspension for failing a dope test. The highly-rated batsman made his much-awaited return to action earlier this month through the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and made it clear that he is desperate to make up for the lost time.
He started the competition with a blistering innings of 50 not out from just 24 balls. In the following games, he scored 30 off 17, 61 off 39. His and Mumbai’s campaign ended on Wednesday and he impressed in that game too, scoring a quickfire fifty as Mumbai beat Punjab by 22 runs although they were knocked out of the competition.

In the powerplay, Prithvi Shaw hit the Punjab bowlers all around the park, scoring 53 from just 27 balls to set the platform for the big total. Suryakumar Yadav and Shreyas Iyer put together 140 runs in 63 balls in a breathtaking partnership. Mumbai eventually finished their innings on 243 for 3 in the allotted 20 overs.
They needed to restrict Punjab to 150 to pip Karnataka on net run-rate and go through to the semi-finals. However, they failed to do so as Punjab came out all guns blazing. Led by young Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma up front, Punjab started strongly and crossed the 150-run mark in the 14th over, ensuring Mumbai were knocked out. Punjab eventually finished on 221 for 6.
Prithvi Shaw’s bat catches attention:
Talking about Prithvi Shaw, more than his innings, his bat caught everyone’s attention. The bat had a special message written on the back of his bat. It was a special message and autograph from India skipper Virat Kohli. The BCCI took to social media platform Twitter to post a photograph of Shaw’s bat with a message – “Dear Prithvi, enjoy the game. Good Luck” – and an autograph from Kohli.
