Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma celebrated his 31st birthday on Monday, and Indian skipper Virat Kohli who is an admirer of his batting wished the Hitman of India on this auspicious day.
Kohli who is a very close friend took to his twitter handle and wrote,
“Happy Birthday @ImRo45 God bless!”
Both are skippers of their respective franchises in the Indian Premier League, RCB and MI, respectively.
They haven’t been able to produce the performances which they would have liked from their franchises. Both are standing at the same points with a couple of victories under their belt after playing seven games. Bangalore especially is not been able to figure out what exactly has been their drawback from the last season.
It has been simply poor performances again and again which hasn’t helped their cause in the longer run.
Bangalore have beaten a top team like the Kings XI Punjab. However, their combination hasn’t been able to give themselves the much-needed consistency. Mumbai Indians, on the other hand, will be pretty confident from the fact that they won their previous encounter against the Chennai Super Kings quite comprehensively in the end by eight wickets.

Rohit Sharma plays a captain’s knock
Skipper Rohit Sharma played a brilliant match-winning knock of 56 runs of just 33 deliveries. It was a special inning especially given the scenario where Mumbai Indians was in ahead of the encounter.
He smashed some audacious shots during his innings. The Hitman struck four boundaries in the penultimate over of Shardul Thakur which totally tilted the scales in favour of Mumbai Indians. In the end, Hardik Pandya hit the winning runs by guiding a short of length delivery from through the 3rd man region.
The two teams meet each on Tuesday in the 31st encounter of the tournament. A loss for anyone of them will be disastrous. Mumbai have an outstanding record against Bangalore and have won all their last four matches at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
