Of late, Virat Kohli has become the major headliner for his aggressive style while leading the team at International level. Quite a few gentlemen haven’t liked the style of Virat Kohli’s play while few termed it pretty ugly. Virat Kohli has become the best batsman in the current cricketing world. If not the best, at least he is in the touching distance, as far as his numbers across the formats are concerned. But, the primary problem for the few cricketing fanatics is the style of play, Virat Kohli executes while leading the troop.

Virat Kohli is the best in the world – Mike Brearley

Mike believes that Virat Kohli combines his passion with a conviction, which is a great thing for the game. Further, he believes that Virat Kohli is a genius batsman, who can make unbelievable things do happen.

“On the whole, it’s a good thing. You can see he loves his cricket, he loves leading the team. It’s important to combine passion with conviction. He comes across as a genius and is assured of playing all the time. So unless he becomes too dominating, for which there should be checks and balances, it’s fine to have him as the leader across formats,” he said.

“If you have different captains, you can get fresh inputs. But the disadvantage is that there could be split allegiances. So the Test captain may not think it’s his team. Kohli is the best batsman in the country and in world cricket in all formats,”he added while speaking in Kolkata’s Aliah University.

Well, as Mike Brearley said, Virat has always strived to bring success to his country. Even during his non-captaincy days, the Delhi lad showed similar aggression on the field. In short, he is a passionate cricketer, who wants to achieve success for his country.
