Former India opener Virender Sehwag has urged cricket fans not to fight with each other over their favourite cricket players. The legendary batsman’s comments came after reports of a fight between fans of MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma emerged. The incident took place in Kolhapur district of Maharastra.

The fight happened over the hoardings. After MS Dhoni announced his retirement from international cricket, his fans erected his hoardings. The Rohit Sharma fans also did the same when the India opener was bestowed with the prestigious Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award on Friday.

However, the hoardings of the star cricketers in close proximity led to a squabble between their fans. The squabble soon escalated when one of the fans tore down the hoarding having Rohit Sharma’s photo. Seeing that, one Rohit Sharma fan started abusing others before the MS Dhoni fans took him to a nearby sugarcane field and beat him.

“Inka alag hi IPL chal raha hai. Most players are either fond of each other or simply don’t talk much. But some fans are alag hi level ke pagle,” he wrote on Instagram.

“If you are really fans, please stop fighting. You can enjoy or tease on performance if your player does well compared to the other but aise maara maari mat karo. Jhagda Jhagdi mat karo, Gandhi ji ko yaad karo,” he added.
