Virender Sehwag and birthday messages are a match made in heaven. No matter what, the former India batsman always comes up with a tweet on someone’s birthday that leaves a wide grin on everyone’s face.

Hailed as the Twitter king, Virender Sehwag has carved his niche on Twitter with his unique and witty tweets. Sehwag’s knack for playing with words, using puns and wit while tweeting has made him one of the most popular figures on the social media platform.

And it had begun with his hilarious birthday wishes for his fellow cricketers.

Well, the latest to get a birthday message from the swashbuckling opener is none other than the legendary, Sunil Gavaskar. The former India skipper turned 69 on Tuesday. As expected, messages poured in from all quarters. But once again, it was Sehwag’s tweet which caught all the limelight.

Hailing Gavaskar fearlessness on a cricket field, Sehwag tweeted,

“Today, #SunnySideUp , for a man who taught a- not very high on confidence generation, ‘Fusfusana Band-India bano Dabanng’. He was truly a Dabanng for his courage to face bowlers who looked like killing you, without any fear and protective gear. Happy Birthday Sunil Gavaskar.”

Gavaskar is one of the greatest openers of all time. The legendary batsman made a name for himself for immaculate technique and constant concentration.

He began his career on a stunning note. During India’s tour of Windies in 1970-71, he scored four centuries to amass 774 runs at an average of 154 in four Tests.

Gavaskar made a record 34 Test hundreds and was the first to score 30 Test tons. Sachin Tendulkar later broke his century-record.
