Veteran Indian batsman VVS Laxman has pointed out on one of India’s major shortcoming after the ODI series loss to New Zealand. The Kiwis beat the Men in Blue 2-0 and won the three-match ODI series. It is India’s first-ever bilateral series loss since the 2019 World Cup and questions are being raised over the team.

Individual performances have also been on the low and fans and experts are worried about the team’s future.

One of the major concerns for team India is Jasprit Bumrah’s poor performance. He has been the most feared bowler in world cricket for the past couple of years because of his movement and variations with the ball. But, the star pacer has gone wicketless for India in both the ODIs.

Not only this, Bumrah has been one of the most economical bowlers in world cricket but his economy has also suffered and he has given away a lot many runs in the games. This is indeed a worrying state for India considering the upcoming T20I World Cup in Australia this year.

VVS Laxman Concerned With Jasprit Bumrah’s Performance:

Pointing out Bumrah’s recent failures, VVS Laxman has also said that it should bother team India.

“It must be a cause for concern for India that Jasprit Bumrah, Virat Kohli’s go-to bowler whenever he has needed breakthroughs, has been short of wickets all tour. Additionally, his lengths too haven’t been spot-on, which means he hasn’t been able to impose usual pressure. Of course, New Zealand’s batsmen have played him well, with Taylor in the forefront,” Laxman opined.

Team India has suffered a shocking defeat against the hosts. They will look to bounce back in the third game. India will look to improvize its batting and will play for pride in the final game of the series.

New Zealand, on the other hand, will eye a clean sweep. It will be an interesting affair when the two giants of world cricket collide for the final time in the 50-over series this year on February 11 at the Bay Oval.
