Former India batsman Wasim Jaffer has taken a hilarious dig at Sanjay Manjrekar for his recent comments about Ravindra Jadeja and Hardik Pandya. Wasim Jaffer’s comments came after both Jadeja and Pandya starred with the bat to help India beat Australia in the third ODI and register their first win on the tour.
Last week, Manjrekar had raised a number of eyebrows with his comment on Pandya and Jadeja. The outspoken commentator had said that neither Jadeja nor Pandya would make it to his limited-overs team. Giving an insight on his selection thought process, the former cricketer-turned-commentator had said that he prefers ‘specialists’.

“My selection and thoughts are based on a principle that I have learnt over the years: if you have specialists who can walk-in based on one discipline, you fill your team with those players,” Sanjay Manjrekar had told The Hindu.
“I do not have a problem with Jadeja; I have a problem with his kind of cricketers in white-ball cricket. Even Hardik Pandya will not be in my team. They add illusionary value to the team,” he had added.
Wasim Jaffer’s dig at Sanjay Manjrekar:
Both Jadeja and Pandya must have made Jadeja regret his words by starring in the third ODI on Wednesday. Pandya and Jadeja scored unbeaten fifties and shared an unbeaten stand of 150 runs to help India recover from 152 for 5 and finish on 302 for 5. In reply, Australia were all out for 289.

Soon after the match ended, Wasim Jaffer took to Twitter to tease Manjrekar with a hilarious message. The former India opener hilariously said that while everyone appreciated the players for their performance on the field, ‘let’s not forget the contribution of those working off the field’, thus suggesting that Manjrekar’s controversial comments are spurring the players to perform.
“While we appreciate those who contributed on the field let’s not forget the contribution of those working off the field too like my good friend @sanjaymanjrekar,” wrote Wasim Jaffer.
