Owing to a heartwarming gesture, AB de Villiers paid a visit to the 14-year-old fan, to whom former’s decision to retire from an international cricket came as a shocking surprise.

Meanwhile, the talismanic batsman de Villiers shocked everybody last month bidding adieu to international cricket. As a result, South Africa will be without their biggest ever weapon in the upcoming World Cup next year. The mega event is scheduled in the United Kingdom (UK).

De Villiers played 114 Test matches, 228 One-Dayers and 78 Twenty20 Internationals for the South African team. He scored 8,765 runs in the red-ball form, 9,577 runs in the 50-over format.

Playing with such an authority, de Villiers went on to amass 1,672 runs in the shortest format. Moreover, he has the record of hammering the fastest 50, 100, and 150 in ODI cricket.

Meanwhile, Jacaranda breakfast host Martin Bester then set up a mock interview with Leo. He was absolutely stunned when De Villiers entered the room.

AB tried to make him realise the reason behind his retirement. The prolific run-scorer said that he wanted to spend more time with his wife and children.

De Villiers told Leo that he would still be playing cricket for the Titans. Leo then had the honour of enjoying a short game of cricket with De Villiers in the back garden.
