In a recent interview, Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan insisted that Afghanistan are the favourites for the upcoming three-match Twenty20 International series.

Afghanistan is currently ranked eighth in the ICC’s T20 rankings, whereas, Bangladesh is placed two places behind them. But despite their skipper’s comments and the rankings, the mood in the Bangladesh camp is upbeat.

In a video shared by Shakib on his micro photo-blogging account on Instagram, the players can be seen and heard belting out their rendition of a viral Bengali song, named ‘Oporadhi’.

As expected, the video has taken the internet by storm as the players could be seen enjoying themselves to the fullest.

Moreover, the fans have been blown away seeing a different facet of the players’ personalities.

Here is the video posted by Shakib:

Meanwhile, Bangladesh suffered a big blow ahead of the T20I series. The Tigers suffered an eight-wicket defeat in a warm-up game against Afghanistan A.

Batting first, Bangladesh managed 145 for six in their 20 allotted overs. In reply, Afghanistan A reached the target with over two overs remaining.

They will also be without their pace spearhead Mustafizur Rahman for the all-important series. Rahman is out with a left toe injury, sustained during the recently-concluded Indian Premier League (IPL).

“Naturally there will be some problems. He is our best T20 bowler and so it will be difficult,” Shakib had said about Rahman’s injury.

“It will be another opportunity for someone else. Whoever gets that opportunity he will have to grab that chance and make it count,” he had added.

The three Twenty20 Internationals between Afghanistan and Bangladesh will be played on June 3, 5 and 7 respectively.  All the games will be played in Dehradun.
