The fans and the team could not have asked for anything more in the comeback season. The only thing that soured the season was that the Super Kings could not play all their home games in front of the Chennai crowd. The BCCI shifted the team’s home games to Pune after just one match due to security reasons.

And as soon as the Super Kings won the title, they did not take long to head to Chennai in order to celebrate the victory with the fans. A large number of fans were waiting at the city airport to welcome the team members and went into raptures when the players emerged. The franchise officials were at hand to receive the players.

Later, the players were welcomed at Crowne Plaza hotel by the staff with garlands. Former BCCI president N Srinivasan greeted the players at the hotel.
