There is little denying the fact that Mushfiqur Rahim do not have too many fans in India. The Bangladesh star had become the public enemy number one in this cricket-obsessed nation after his infamous tweet following India’s loss to West Indies in the semifinal of the 2016 T20 World Cup. India had beaten Bangladesh in a close encounter to dump them out of the competition before losing to West Indies.

Rahim had then infamously celebrated India’s win by tweeting a photo of himself celebrating in front of his television set. His animated celebrations is also not liked by the Indian fans. Recently, he had celebrated animatedly after guiding Bangladesh to their first-ever T20I win over India. In the very following game, Yuzvendra Chahal had given him a taste of his own medicine by dismissing him for a duck.

And on Friday (November 15), the Indian fans also tried their best to get under the skin of the Bangladesh star during the first Test in Indore. The incident took place while Rahim was fielding near the boundary ropes. As soon as the fans spotted him, they decided to taunt him by chanting

“Do rupay ki Pepsi, Rahim bhai sexy”.

Rahim, on his part, decided to focus only on the game as the fans did their best to unsettle him.

Here is a clip of that incident:

Talking about the game, India thrashed Bangladesh by an innings and 130 runs to take the lead in the two-match series. The hosts bowled out Bangladesh for just 213 in the second innings to wrap up the game inside three days. The Virat Kohli-led side took command of the match right from day one despite losing the toss.

The home side bowled out the tourists for just 150 to put itself on the driver’s seat. In reply, they declared their innings after posting a mammoth total of 493 for 6. Mayank Agarwal starred with the bat, scoring 243 while Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane and Ravindra Jadeja scored fifties. Bangladesh’s fortunes did not change in the second innings either.

Riding on Mushfiqur Rahim’s fifty, they did show some resistance in the middle but it did not make much of a difference as they were all out for just 213. Both the teams will now move to Kolkata for the second and final Test.
