While Kagiso Rabada loves to play with a smile on his face, it does not take him long to show another facet of his personality when he dismisses a batsman. The South Africa pacer has made a habit of giving a send-off to the opposition players.
Not very long ago, he was suspended for one Test after the ICC sanctioned him for giving Ben Stokes a send-off.
However, it has not stopped the pacer from giving animated send-offs to opposition players. In the second One-Day International against India, he had given Rohit Sharma a cheeky send off by clapping and pointing towards the dressing room.
Well, the Proteas pacer came up with another an interesting send-off after dismissing Shikhar Dhawan in the ongoing fifth ODI.
Dhawan targeted Rabada right from the start. In Rabada’s very first over, Dhawan hit him for a four and followed it up with a couple of boundaries in the next. In the third over, Dhawan hit him for another four before changing the strike. Rabada’s fourth over also started similarly, as Dhawan hit the second ball of the over for a four.
However, Rabada had the last laugh in the duel after dismissing his tormentor.
The Proteas star accounted for the India opener with a short ball. Dhawan miscued the pull shot, and the ball went straight into the hands of Andile Phehlukwayo at the deep backward square leg. As soon as Phehlukwayo completed his catch, Rabada did his usual bit by giving Dhawan a heated send-off.
The 22-year old shouted bye to Dhawan and waved his hands in a manner which could land him in hot waters.
Here is a clip of that incident:
