Watch: Furious Shahid Afridi Gives Anton Devcich An Animated Send-Off

Veteran allrounder Shahid Afridi was seen giving Anton Devcich an heated send-off warm during the clash between Nangarhar Leopards vs Paktia Panthers in the ongoing Afghanistan Premier League.

Shahid Afridi is playing cricket for over two decades now. From the high of winning the World T20 to the low of seeing his team crash out of the World Cup at the group stage after losing to minnows Ireland, Afridi’s career has been nothing less than a rollercoaster. But even after playing for so many years and seeing so many ups and downs, the maverick allrounder plays the game with same enthusiasm.

And the way he reacted after sending back Anton Devcich on Sunday, it is still very much clear that the former Pakistan skipper has not lost the spark in his personality. The incident occurred on the final ball of the seventh over.  A couple of balls before, Devcich had got a reprieve after Afridi bowled a no-ball. And when the leg-spinner let his anger out as soon as his final ball of the over crashed onto Devcich’s stumps. The left-handed batsman had backed away to play a cut shot but the ball spun in and went on to knock off the stumps.

And Afridi soon gave Devcich an animated send-off, gesturing the batsman to walk away from the field.

Here is a clip of that incident:

Coming to the game, Paktia Panthers won the game by 7 wickets. Opting to bat first, Nangarhar Leopards managed to score just 126 for 10 in the allotted 20 overs. Ziaw Rahman starred with the ball, picking up 3 for 27 while Afridi and Isuru Udana picked up two wickets each.

In reply, the Panthers chased down the total inside 15 overs with opener Mohammad Shahzad’s 43-ball 78 leading the way.
