Australia star Glenn Maxwell saved a hotel from burning down by reacting in time and putting off a bush-fire. Extreme heat and strong winds have taken a toll on Australia as the country has been suffering due to bush-fire. And one such bush-fire could have engulfed the hotel too in which Glenn Maxwell and Dale Steyn were staying with their Melbourne Stars teammates.

Both the superstars were sitting in the reception of the hotel when they saw the smoke. The two ran out to check out the source of the smoke before noticing the bush fire. Dale Steyn then quickly called the fire-brigade but Glenn Maxwell was in no mood to wait. The Australia allrounder ran back to the hotel to get something to put off the fire.

He found a fire extinguisher and did enough to extinguish the fire which could have turned very dangerous.

” Yeah, we were sitting in the reception of the hotel, myself and Dale Steyn. We looked out and there was smoke billowing out from a neighbouring park. It was actually coming into the hotel. We quickly ran out to see if it was a barbeque or something like that and noticed the bush was completely on fire,” said Glenn Maxwell.

“Dale got on the phone to call the fire brigade and I ran back in to look for something to put it out and found a fire extinguisher and tried to put it out. Or make it a little bit easier for the fire brigade when they got there. Luckily enough we put it out and the hotel is still there,” he added.

Dale Steyn later took to Instagram to post a video of Glenn Maxwell’s heroic action. Here is that clip:
