The Big Bash League has witnessed some rivetting cricketing action in its 2019/2020 season and the recent encounter between Melbourne Stars and Hobart Hurricanes had its moments. Melbourne Stars got the better of Hobart Hurricanes in a rain-curtailed match. The game was reduced to 11 overs after several delays due to torrential downpour.
Hobart Hurricanes managed to score 55 runs in their allotted quota of overs. However, in reply, Melbourne Stars finally won the match by 4 overs due to the DLS method. Nonetheless, it was a pre-match interruption that drew the attention of the fans. Ahead of the match, Dale Steyn posted a video clip of Stars skipper Glenn Maxwell drenching a fire in Launceston.

Australia’s all-rounder Glenn Maxwell who set his highest base price at INR 2 crore ahead of the auction became the second expensive signing at the IPL 2020 auction held in Kolkata after he was drafted in by Kings XI Punjab for a whopping price tag of INR 10.75 crore.
For Maxwell, it is not a new chapter at Kings XI Punjab as he had earlier represented the same franchise. Glenn Maxwell has finally returned to competitive cricket after taking an indefinite break from the game due to mental health issues. He took the break midway through the T20I series against Sri Lanka to deal with his mental health issues.
Earlier, CA’s Support Team psychologist Dr Michael Lloyd, in an official statement added that the Australia all-rounder was facing some difficulties with regards to his mental health and which is why he had to take a break from the game. Maxwell identified the issues he had been facing and also conveyed the same with support staff before spending a short time off the field.
