Afghanistan were just clueless as to how to stop England captain Eoin Morgan. The left-handed batsman was going hammer and tongs against the Asian team and left them gasping for breath with his stunning assault. Morgan blasted 11 sixes when he reached his hundred off just 57 deliveries. In the process, he scored the fastest ton of this edition.
He, however, did not stop there. The England star eventually finished his knock with 17 sixes to his name in 71-ball innings that saw him score his career-best 148. His 17-six knock helped him create world record for most sixes in an ODI innings. He beat the previous benchmark of 16 sixes in an ODI innings, shared by Rohit Sharma, AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle.

Morgan started slowly and reached his fifty off 36 balls. But once he had hit eyes set, there was no looking back. He took just 21 balls to score his second fifty and reached his first century of this World Cup.
Well, things could have been different had Afghanistan skipper Gulbadin Naib managed to succeed in his hilarious attempt to dismiss his England counterpart. The incident took place in the 32nd over when Naib bowled one very close to Morgan’s body. Morgan tried to cut hit but was undone by the lack of space.

He ended up chopping the ball onto the boot and decided to steal the single. His partner Joe Root, however, immediately sent him back. Morgan soon turned back and just before he could enter his crease, Naib hilariously pulled him back. But everything was in good spirit as the players laughed off the incident and the action resumed.
Here is the hilarious clip involving Eoin Morgan and Gulbadin Naib:

England, meanwhile, piled up 398 for 6 in their allotted 50 overs. Apart from Morgan, Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow impressed with the bat too by scoring 88 and 90 respectively.
