Indian Premier League is much more than just a contest between bat and ball. The league turns opponents into teammates and in some cases pits friends against each other. Players from different backgrounds and countries coming together to play for the same team is a sight that is being loved by every cricket fan. It is safe to say that the league is all about leaving the rivalry on the field and celebrating the camaraderie.

Well, something similar was witnessed after Wednesday’s game between Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab at the Wankhede Stadium. KL Rahul once again impressed with the bat but his knock went in vain as Mumbai Indians went on to defend 186 runs to remain in contention for a playoff berth. But while the win did Mumbai’s chances of making it to the last four a world of good, the loss has pretty much jeopardised Kings XI’s chances.

But despite the contrasting results, Rahul and Mumbai Indians star Hardik Pandya shared a beautiful moment after the game. The duo was witnessed embracing each other before swapping their jerseys.

Here is a tweet by IPL’s official Twitter handle showing that beautiful moment:

Coming to the game, Mumbai Indians scored 186 for 8 in the allotted 20 overs. Comeback man Kieron Pollard top-scored for the hosts, scoring 50 off 23. Andrew Tye continued to make merry with the ball, finishing the game with figures of 4 for 16.

In reply, Punjab were looking well set to chase down the total after being comfortably placed at 127 for 1 after the 15th over. However, the game turned on its head after Jasprit Bumrah ended the 111-run stand between Rahul and Aaron Finch in the 17th over. In the 19th over, Bumrah dismissed Rahul for a 60-ball 94. Mumbai went on to win the must-win tie by 3 runs.
