‘Men vs boys’ is what the commentators were calling the game between India and Pakistan on Sunday. And one cannot really question that phrase as India did make Pakistan team look like a bunch of boys in Manchester. And the way Hardik Pandya reacted after bowling a bouncer to Pakistan skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed, it became crystal clear that even the players were taking their arch rivals lightly.

The incident took place on the second ball of the 29th over. Hardik Pandya bowled a sharp bouncer around off and totally deceived Sarfaraz. The Pakistan batsman had come forward to play his shot but was taken aback by the sharp rise. He somehow managed to fend the ball away and avoided getting hit. Hardik Pandya then mocked Sarfaraz with a hilarious gesture. The India allrounder had a cheeky smile at Pakistan’s skipper before gesturing with his hand.

Talking about the game, India beat Pakistan by 89 runs.  Asked to bat first, India posted a mammoth total of 336 for 5 in 50 overs. In reply, Pakistan finished on 212 for 6 while chasing a revised total of 301 in 40 overs.

Openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul laid the platform for the big total of 336 for 5 by adding 136 runs for the first wicket. The partnership ended when Wahab Riaz sent back Rahul for 57. But Rohit went on to make the most of his start and smashed a breathtaking 140 while Virat Kohli scored 77 as India score big.

In reply, Pakistan lost opener Imam-ul-Haq (7) to the first-ever ball Vijay Shankar bowled in a World Cup but recovered well as Fakhar Zaman (62) and Babar Azam (48) shared a 104-run second-wicket stand.

However, Kuldeep Yadav dismissed the set pair in consecutive overs before Hardik Pandya removed Mohammad Hafeez (9) and Shoaib Malik (0) off successive deliveries as Pakistan slipped from 117-1 to 129-5. Pakistan eventually huffed and puffed to 212 for 6.
