Harry Brook didn’t put a foot wrong in the recently concluded game between Northern Superchargers and Welsh Fire in  The Hundred League at Leeds. The England batter was exceptional with the bat as well as in the field.

Coming to his fielding first, Harry Brook’s effort made many go gaga as his brilliance in the field saw dangerous-looking Jonny Bairstow back in the hut. The Northern Superchargers put in a combined effort with his teammate Adam Hose to remove the opposition batter.

It was during the 82nd ball of the second innings when Jonny Bairstow smashed a delivery from Brydon Carse towards the leg side. It seemed that it would’ve easily gone for a six but Harry Brook gobbled the ball inches inside the boundary rope. He couldn’t keep himself inside the line and he lobbed the ball, showing great footwork.

Harry Brook showed great presence of mind and his brilliance was supported well by Adam Hose, who was nearby. He caught the ball leading to a fantastic catch that saw Jonny Bairstow back in the hut for 44 runs. Here’s the video:

Harry Brook earlier with the bat had set the stage on fire with his magnificent batting display. It was a one-man show from him as every other batter in his team failed. The right-hander smashed a brilliant ton and bailed his team out of trouble.

Harry Brook scored unbeaten runs off 42 balls and batted with a strike rate of 250. He smashed 11 fours and 7 sixes in his innings that saw his side post a total of 158 runs on the board. The second-best score in the team was 15 by Adam Hose.

I was trying to hit the ball hard and straight – Harry Brook after his knock

Harry Brook, who was awarded Man of the Match, opened up about his knock after the game. He said that he was trying to hit the ball hard and straight. Before adding that he wants to continue to concentrate on the next game.

“I was trying to get us over the line. I was trying to hit the ball hard and straight. Had clarity. Needed a lot of runs. I had to change the bat as the handle was gone. We still got a group from last year. A few sides bonded better than us. I just want to continue to concentrate on the next game I am playing,” he concluded.
