During the Prime Minister’s XI vs South Africa game the other day, Imran Tahir made a mockery of a situation. Placed at fine-leg, the leg-spinner grabbed a catch off a no-ball, and without realising it, he celebrated allowing the batsmen to take a double. Going by the commentator’s words, he should have known about it.

‘Imran should’ve known about it’

However, earlier in the day, the Proteas skipper, Faf du Plessis won the toss and elected to bat first. The opening duo of Aiden Markram and Quinton de Kock didn’t build up a healthy partnership. The visitors lost quick wickets putting them on the back foot from the word go.

However, the day didn’t favour the South African team, as they could post a score of 173 runs at the end of 42 overs losing all their wickets. Meanwhile, Aiden Markram and David Miller were the highest contributors in the game scoring 47 and 45 runs, respectively.

Moreover, towards the end of the innings, Kagiso Rabada and Dale Steyn added some vital runs to help Proteas to score 150+ runs. Prime Ministers XI bowlers, Jason Behrendorff and Usman Qadir picked up three wickets each to rattled the batting line up.

While chasing down the target, the Prime Ministers Xi found it easy to secure a win within the 37th over. The wicket-keeper batsman, Josh Philippe and George Bailey were the two top-scorers and half-centurions for the team. Philippe played an excellent knock of 57 runs off 53 deliveries smashing eight boundaries and one six. Skipper Bailey also contributed in the middle scoring 51 runs off 76 deliveries.

Meanwhile, an exciting thing happened on the fourth delivery of the fifth over. Rabada delivered a ball to Philippe, and Imran Tahir took an excellent catch at the fine-leg position. After that, he began celebrating by showing his jersey number to the fans. Though he grabbed it, he didn’t throw it back on time giving the batsmen to take a couple.

Moreover, Kagiso Rabada and Lungi Ngidi each picked up two wickets, but Prime Ministers won the match by four wickets.
