Watch: James Anderson Dismisses Murali Vijay For A Duck Again With A Stunning Delivery

Four years ago when India toured England, Murali Vijay was one of the best performers for India in an otherwise yet another dismal overseas Test series. The team had lost the series 3-1 but Vijay stood tall throughout. With 402 runs, he had finished the series as India’s highest run-scorer.
However, the ongoing series in England is panning out in start contrast to what happened on the last tour. The dependable opener has now become a weak link in the team. The Tamil Nadu star scored just 20 and 6 in the series-opener at Edgbaston and did even worse in the ongoing second Test at Lord’s. Vijay bagged a pair, falling to James Anderson in both the innings.
After conceding a mammoth 289-run lead, India needed a strong start from their openers. However, Anderson quashed India’s hopes by dismissing Vijay for a duck again. Vijay was a bit late in reaching out for the ball and ended up inside-edging it to the wicketkeeper.
Here is a clip of that wicket:

Meanwhile, the wicket was Anderson’s 100th at the Lord’s. After dismissing Vijay, the England pace spearhead has now dismissed an opener 150 times in Test cricket. This was also the seventh time he has dismissed Vijay which is the most the India opener has been dismissed by a single bowler. Vijay also became the sixth Indian opener to bag a pair.
