England star Jason Roy might have pulled one of the best if not the best catches the game has ever seen. Ever since the T20s arrived, the fans have witnessed some absolutely breathtaking catches near the boundary ropes. However, it would not be too wrong to say that Roy’s catch is the best of the lot. The England opener pulled off the stunner while playing for Sylhet Sixers against Chittagong Vikings in the Bangladesh Premier League.

Yasir Ali must have thought he had pulled Alok Kapali for a maximum after connecting with the short ball beautifully. The ball, travelling like a rocket, was looking destined to end up in the stands. However, Roy had some other plans. With the ball travelling, Roy kept his eyes on it before doing the unimaginable. He timed his dive to perfection to take the catch just near the fence with a dive. Such was the catch that even Roy had to stand for a moment in disbelief.

Here is a clip of that breathtaking catch from Jason Roy:

Here is another angle of the catch:

Coming to the game, the Sylhet Sixers won the game by 29 runs. Put in to bat first, the Sixers rode on their West Indies recruit Andre Fletcher’s fifty to post a challenging 165 for 5 in the stipulated 20 overs. After Fletcher set the platform for the good score, Sabbir Rahman (32) and Mohammad Nawaz (34) hit some big blows towards the end to take the team score past 150. For Vikings, Hardus Viljoen impressed with the ball, finishing with 4 for 29.

But Hardus Viljoen’s effort eventually went in vain as the Vikings were all out for just 136 inside 19 overs. Barring skipper Mushfiqur Rahim, who scored 48, none of the other players could provide the Sixers much of a fight. Ebadat Hossain starred with the ball for the Sixers, ending the game with 4 for just 17.
