Just hours after England captain Joe Root made it clear  that England’s cricketers won’t be shaking hands with each other while out in Sri Lanka following the coronavirus outbreak, he was hilariously trolled by his teammate Stuart Broad. The outbreak has affected several sports events and there are now question marks over the 2020 Olympics too.

And England cricketers are taking absolutely no risks regarding the deadly outbreak that has killed over 3,000 people and infected more than 89,000 so far. The Joe Root-led side suffered flu and gastroenteritis in South Africa and the England captain wants to make sure his players aren’t affected by coronarivus.

“After the illnesses that swept through the squad in South Africa, we are well aware of the importance of keeping contact to a minimum and we’ve been given some really sound and sensible advice from our medical team to help prevent spreading germs and bacteria,” Joe Root said before leaving for Sri Lanka.

“We are not shaking hands with each other, using instead the well-established fist bump, and we are washing hands regularly and wiping down surfaces using the anti-bacterial wipes and gels we’ve been given in our immunity packs,” he added.

Well, Stuart Broad could not help but hilariously troll his captain over his comments while being on the flight to Sri Lanka. The veteran fast-bowler chose to poke a bit of fun at Joe Root. He later posted footage on Twitter of himself filming a news story, which was about Root’s instructions to the England team.

Stuart Broad then moved the camera away from the screen to show Root sat behind him. The England captain did not look amused as the pacer hilariously offered him his hand to shake.
