Watch - Jonty Rhodes Impresses Young Cricketers With Intense Fielding Drills

Former South Africa cricketer Jonty Rhodes is the best fielder of all time. He had the ability to enter any side of the world solely based on his fielding. Although he has grown old now, Rhodes and agility and swiftness in the field is still intact.

The illustrious cricketer is currently in Sri Lanka working with more than 500 young cricketers. The camp will also include first-class cricketers who are eager to learn and better their skills. Jonty Rhodes has worked with Sri Lankan outfits in the recent past but this is the first of its kind.

A video from one of the camps went viral on social media where Rhodes was demonstrating fielding drills to the young cricketers present in the camp. Former Dutch-South African cricketer Ryan Maroon posted the video on Twitter.

He wrote that although Jonty Rhodes has attained 50-years of age but still has the spark in him. The former Proteas cricketer was a nightmare for the batsmen while fielding in that point region. Jonty was a complete fielder which lifted the South African team during his international career.

Jonty, himself, however, had a funny take on the video saying that he was glad that guy didn’t focus on the other end. He had missed most of the hits during the throwdowns.

Meanwhile, Jonty Rhodes recently had applied for the fielding coach job of Team India. But couldn’t bag the post and the selectors decided to retain R. Sridhar for another term. Rhodes has been in India for quite some time now working with Mumbai Indians.

He has time and again spoken about his love for the country and has named his child after the country. Jonty has played 245 ODIs and 52 Test matches for South Africa scoring over 8000 runs.
