Being sharp and decisive on the field can do a world of good for the entire team. During the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2019, the fans witnessed a breathtaking effort from Manoj Tiwary who pulled off an absolute gem of a catch in the match between Bengal and Mumbai at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Earlier, Yusuf Pathan impressed the fans by taking superb catches and now Manoj Tiwary’s catch at covers turned out to be a superb one. It is also fair to say that Tiwary’s catch is one of the best taken in the ongoing T20 tourney. That was one humdinger of a catch to send Mumbai opener Jay Bista packing at the best scene.
The brilliant moment was caught when a left-arm orthodox bowler Shahbaz Ahmed pitched a flatter off-spin to which the batsman Bista attempted to whack the ball through the covers. During the process, Manoj Tiwary who was fielding at covers put in an acrobatic dive left to take one hell of a catch to dismiss the well-set Mumbai opener for 48 runs.
The match had its moments. Bengal, batting first scored 153/4 in their allotted quota of 20 overs after a half-century from team opener Vivek Singh and some quick knocks from Sreevats Goswami and Shahbaz Ahmed. For Mumbai, Shubham Ranjane was the pick of the bowlers as he picked three wickets to his pocket.
In fact, he was the main man for Mumbai with the bat as well as he assisted his team win the match in a grand fashion. While Mumbai was busy chasing the target of 154, the key players hardly showed teeth as the game progressed. Shreyas Iyer (15), Suryakumar Yadav (22), Siddhesh Lad (0) and Shivam Dube (0) had put the team on the back foot.
Thanks to Ranjane who rose to the occasion by chipping in with an unbeaten 30 off 17 balls which helped Mumbai seal the big deal.
