Young Indian seamer, Mohammed Siraj ripped off veteran England batsman Alastair Cook with a perfect zapper of a delivery during India A’s clash with England A at Taunton.

Meanwhile, the visitors didn’t have much to cheer as they flunked by 253 runs. Cook, who also played the match, looked in ominous touch. The same would definitely have been a positive sign for him and the England team, which will play a five-match Test series against India from August 1.

Alastair Cook notched up 180 runs in the first innings before being cleaned up by Ankit Rajpoot. In the second essay, he couldn’t replicate his form as Siraj rattled his stumps. The tall and lanky fast-bowler ran in as Cook took guard and prepared himself to play the delivery. Siraj delivered from close to the stumps and pitched a back-of-a-length ball.

Cook went for a front foot defense, but his movement wasn’t convincing. He tried to get in the line of the delivery and attempted to defend the red cherry. However, the ball pitched on and about middle-stump and jagged back a bit and that was enough to castle Cook’s timber.

The leather snuck through his bat and pad and cannoned into the stumps. Following the dismissal, Mohammed Siraj jumped in the air and pumped his fists in joy.

The English batsman was a tad surprised and while making his way from the middle, he tapped on the pitch to check what made the ball to move back. Recently, Siraj posted a video of the dismissal.
