Watch: MS Dhoni Makes A Meal Of Easy Stumping

Mahendra Singh Dhoni missing a stumping is probably the rarest of sites on a cricket field. Hailed by many as the best wicketkeeper of this generation, the 36-year old’s work behind the stumps has left everyone mesmerized. He recently became the first ever wicketkeeper to affect 100 stumping in One-Day Internationals. However, the spectators at his home ground, Ranchi witnessed an unusual sight when the former India skipper missed a straightforward chance to dismiss Tim Paine in the ongoing first T20 International.

Dhoni handed the reprieve to the Australian wicketkeeper-batsman in the 15th over bowled by Yuzvendra Chahal. The India leg-spinner bowled a flighted leg-break which Paine wanted to paddle it round the corner. However, the 32-year old missed it and consequently the ball sneaked underneath his bat and went behind the stumps. But luckily for him, Dhoni, who was slightly blinded by the batsman, failed to grab the ball and Paine survived.

Here is a clip of that missed chance:

An avid cricket lover, I just love this game more than anything. Writing about cricket keeps me closer to the game.
