Former India skipper MS Dhoni has joined his army battalion and is currently posted in Kashmir. The veteran cricketer chose to serve the army after making himself unavailable for the ongoing series against West Indies. Recently, the India cricketer was seen playing volleyball with his battalion in the Territorial Army.

Dhoni is currently on a two-month break from cricket after a dismal ICC World Cup 2019 campaign. He received severe criticism from the fan and former cricketer for his slow batting which has hurt the team badly. There were speculations that MS Dhoni might retire from cricket, but there have been no indications of that as of yet. However, as per popular perception, Dhoni, who is in the twilight of his career will be with the team till the World T20 next year and help young Rishabh Pant groom before bidding farewell to the game.

Meanwhile, the Jharkhand-born cricketer holds the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Territorial Army unit of the Parachute Regiment (106 Para TA battalion), awarded to him in 2011. Amidst his retirement debates, MS Dhoni will be with the 106 Territorial Army battalion (Para) till August 15 and will be taking on the duties of patrolling, guard and post his duties he will be staying with the troops. He has already joined his duties and was recently playing volleyball with his battalion.

Despite being a star cricketer, MS Dhoni’s love for other sports is known to the world. He grew up playing football as a goal-keeper and do not miss a chance to play the game. Similarly, he loves every sport as well, including volleyball. Stealing time out of his duties, Dhoni was seen playing volleyball, which spread on social media like a wildfire.
