The recently-concluded game between Beximco Dhaka and Fortune Barishal in the Bangabandhu T20 Cup saw a bizarre and disgraceful incident when Bangladesh star Mushfiqur Rahim lost his cool and nearly hit his teammate Nasum Ahmed. Mushfiqur Rahim has been leading Beximco Dhaka in the tournament.

The incident took place on the final ball of the 17th over when Fortune Barishal were involved in a tight chase. On the final ball of the over, a well set Afif Hossain tried to make some room for himself while facing Shafiqul Islam. However, the left-arm pacer smartly changed his line and the batsman could only miscue his shot behind the stumps.

Mushfiqur Rahim went for the catch but there was a lack of communication between him and Nasum as the two nearly collided. And what followed thereafter was absolutely disgraceful. The wicketkeeper-batsman lost his cool and nearly hit his teammate.

The former Bangladesh skipper was seen trying to throw the ball in anger at his teammate but eventually decided against it. Mushfiqur Rahim was not done yet and was seen scolding Nasum before the other players intervened to bring the situation under control.

Talking about the game, Beximco Dhaka won the thrilling game by nine runs. Asked to bat first, the Dhaka-based outfit scored 150 runs for 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Yasir Ali top-scored with the bat, scoring 54 while Mushfiqur Rahim played a crucial knock of 43.

In reply, Fortune Barishal ended their innings on 141 for 9. Afif Hossain top scored for them, scoring 55 while the other batsmen failed to make notable contributions. For Dhaka, Shafiqul Islam and Muktar Ali picked three wickets each.
