Cricket Australia, on Wednesday, posted a trailer of Amazon’s docuseries that will provide a behind-the-scenes look at their Men’s team over 18 months. The much-anticipated series will cover Australia’s journey from the fallout of the Cape Town saga all the way to their Ashes defence in England last year. Australian cricket was at its all time low when the ball-tampering scandal took place in Cape Town and culminated with the ban of Steve Smith, David Warner and Cameron Bancroft.

But the traditional heavyweights of the game did not take long to bounce back. Smith, Warner and Bancroft returned to action during last year’s Ashes. While Warner and Bancroft struggled to get going, Smith was class apart as he finished the series as top run-scorer. Australia went on to draw the series 2-2 and retained the Ashes.

One of the most fascinating incidents that took place during the Ashes was the duel between Smith and Jofra Archer during the Lord’s Test which eventually culminated with the batsman suffering a concussion. And Amazon has now released some never-seen-before scenes of that incident. It was an enthralling battle as Archer breathed fire.

Archer produced a blistering, brutal and utterly enthralling spell of fast bowling as Smith was having all sorts of problems. Smith was first struck on his arm and then his head before he walked off the field. He later came out to bat before being ruled out of the Test and then the following game due to concussion.

In the clip released by Amazon, one can see the emotions of Smith’s teammates and the coaches as he was first hit on the head and was then booed by the crowd. Smith was also seen throwing away his bat in anger after being dismissed.
