New Zealand’s Leo Carter, on Sunday, joined a very elite list of players who have hit six sixes in an over. He achieved the incredible feat while playing for Canterbury against Northern Districts in the ongoing Super Smash. Chasing a mammoth total of 220, Canterbury were in a fine spot when Leo Carter came out to bat after the dismissal of Stephen Murdoch.

They were 104 for 3 in the 11th over and were well on course for the chase. By the end of the fifteenth over, Canterbury were 156 for 3, needing 64 more runs in the last 30 balls. The match was headed towards a thrilling finish when Anton Devcich came to bowl the 16th over.

And Leo Carter decided to go all out as he hit each ball of the over for a six to bring down the equation to 28 from 24 balls. After scoring 11 from his first 12 balls, Leo Carter went on to complete his fifty in just 21 balls. Canterbury eventually chased down the total with seven balls remaining.

Leo Carter remained unbeaten on 70 from just 29 balls with the help of three fours and seven sixes. Captain Cole McConchie also played a fine unbeaten knock of 49 from just 25 balls.
