More often than not, a bowler would try to fix his line and lengths in order to get rid of his poor form. However, Moeen Ali seems to be an exception by a mile. The out-of-form England allrounder came up with a bizarre tactic during a County Championship game as he looks to regain his form. Just a couple of weeks ago, Moeen Ali was an automatic choice in England’s Test side.

However, England gave him a hard reality check by dropping him for the second Ashes Test. Disappointed with his form and the axe, Moeen Ali took a short break from cricket which lasted just two Vitality Blast matches. The short break seems to have not done any wonders for the off-spinner as his fall from grace took another bad turn.

The World Cup-winning star resorted to bowling medium pace during a forgettable performance for his county side. He gave up his off-spinners for two overs during Worcestershire clash with Northamptonshire. At one point the 32-year-old had figures of no wicket for 109 before claiming three late wickets to finish with 3 for 126.

Here is a clip showing Moeen Ali bowling some medium pace:

Talking about the game between Worcestershire and Northamptonshire, the latter have taken a firm grip on the proceedings. After bowling out Worcestershire for just 186, Northamptonshire finished their first innings on a commanding 376. Centuries from Dwaine Pretorius and Alex Wakely helped their side put up the big total.

In reply, Worcestershire finished the day on a precarious 48 for 4, still trailing Northamptonshire by 148 runs. Meanwhile, England have named an unchanged 12-man squad for the third Ashes Test, starting on Thursday. The way Moeen Ali is performing at the moment, it would not be very surprising if he does not get any chance at all during the series.
