Watch: Pavel Florin Leaves Everyone Amazed With His Bowling Action In European Cricket League

Over the years, the game of cricket has seen some absolutely bizarre bowling actions. But perhaps no action is as bizarre as that of Pavel Florin. The Transylvanian cricketer, who is a professional bodyguard by day and player-president of Romania’s Cluj Cricket Club in his spare time, took the internet by storm with his action against French club Dreux in the European Cricket League (ECL) on Tuesday.

Florin failed to pick up a single wicket in his first outing at the inaugural ECL. The only positive from his one over was that he did manage to bowl an economical spell, conceding only 13 in the 10-over a side contest.  Florin, batting down the order, did not get to the crease as Cluj posted 69-5 off their 10 overs in response to Dreux’s 164-6. He did not bat or bowl in the two other games Cluj have played so far, both of which were lost.

Speaking at the end of the day’s action, Pavel Florin said while his action may not be ‘beautiful’, it isn’t going to stop him playing the game he loves.

“Maybe someone says my bowling is not beautiful or not effective but I don’t care, because I love cricket,” he said.

Legendary Shane Warne also praised Florin’s spirit for the game. The former Australia spinner took to Twitter to praise Florin.

Talking about the ECL, it is an eight-team tournament, divided into two groups. Cluj Cricket Club have been placed in Group A along side Rotterdam, Svanholm and Dreux. Cluj Cricket Club have lost both their matches and are currently at the bottom of Group A with no points. Pavel Florin will be next seen in action in his club’s match against Svanholm on Tuesday. It will be a do-or-die match for Florin’s side to stay alive in the competition.
