The Indian Women’s team lost the 2nd match of the 3 match ODI series to Australia and hence surrendered the series. Australia won the encounter by 60 runs on Thursday at Vadodara. Despite their series defeat, bowler Pooja Vastrakar produced an enjoyable moment for the fan and spectators for India and her team.

It happened during the 40th over of the innings when Pooja smashed Jess Jonassen for a huge six over the mid-wicket region. The ball cleared the ropes with utmost ease and struck the scoreboard. The force of the ball was such that it caused the number to fall off from the board.

BCII shared the incident via their official BCCI Women’s handle. They captioned the video, “Pooja Vastrakar’s six leaves scoreboard in tatters. She smashed a Jess Jonassen delivery in the 2nd ODI at Baroda so hard that it landed on the manual scoreboard leaving it in a big mess”

The 18-year-old youngster was not impressive with the ball. However, she scored 30 of 33 deliveries with the bat in hand. Her innings helped India come close to victory but the Aussie bowlers had other ideas. They eventually won the match by 60 runs bowling out India for 227 runs.

The Australian colts won the opening clash quite comprehensively. They overhauled the target of 200 with utmost ease. It was Nicole Bolton who struck a splendid century which proved instrumental in Australia’s victory. With the series done and dusted, the Indian girls will be playing for pride in the final match of the series.

Just after the conclusion of the tournament, India will meet the same opponents and England in a T20I tri-series. All the matches of the series will be played at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai from 22nd to 31st March.
