Watch: Prithvi Shaw Tells Sachin Tendulkar He Won't Let Him Down

Thanking his idol Sachin Tendulkar, India’s latest batting sensation Prithvi Shaw has vowed to not let the legendary batsman down.
Wishes poured in from all corners after Shaw began his Test career with a bang, scoring a scintillating ton in the first Test against West Indies. The 18-year old played a stroke-filled knock of 134 to light up Rajkot. Shaw looked unfazed on his debut, hitting a flurry of boundaries to showcase his immense potential.
He reached his hundred off just 99 balls. In doing so, Shaw became 15th Indian batsman to score a hundred on debut. Overall he is the 105th player to achieve the feat in Test cricket. The opener also became the fourth youngest player of all time to hit a debut ton and the second youngest Indian to make a Test century after Tendulkar.

As soon as he crossed the 100-run mark, the likes of Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, VVS Laxman, Sanjay Manjrekar and Harbhajan Singh immediately hailed him on Twitter.
The BCCI’s media team then made sure to make Shaw aware of all the tweets. In the video shared by BCCI.tv, Shaw read out the tweets from cricketing legends for him.
Responding to Sehwag’s tweet, Shaw said he loved the swashbuckling Indian opener’s attacking batting. Shaw then said he always admired Laxman’s ability to patiently bat for hours.He also thanked Rohit Sharma for his kind towards.

Later, he came across his idol Tendulkar’s tweet. The legendary batsman congratulated Shaw and advised Shaw to continue batting fearlessly.
In reply, Shaw thanked him before assuring that he won’t let him down.

Meanwhile, India wrapped up the game inside three days. The hosts beat West Indies by an innings and 272 runs to take an unassailable lead in the two-match series.
