Team India is once again struggling with the bat in the ongoing day-night three-day practice fixture against Australia A at the Sydney Cricket Ground. After having lost Mayank Agarwal for a 5-ball 2 to Sean Abbott in just the 3rd over of their first innings, the Men in Blue looked like they had weathered the storm substantially with the young and dynamic batting duo of Prithvi Shaw and Shubman Gill going hell for leather.
The duo played a plethora of enterprising strokes against the Australia A attack, smashing 63 runs in a mere 6.3 overs.
Prithvi Shaw scored a breezy 29-ball 40- an innings which included eight fours. Shaw played gorgeous drives but his penchant to drive the ball so far away from his body eventually led to his demise.
Shaw obliged and got a thick outside edge on the first one and it luckily flew in the vacant third-man region for a boundary. Prithvi Shaw responded with two more boundaries courtesy back-to-back drives- one through the covers and the other between cover and point.
However, Will Sutherland had the last laugh as he got the ball to nip back in wickedly on the fifth delivery of the over. Prithvi Shaw, who was once again looking to drive it on the up, was castled.
Post Prithvi Shaw’s dismissal, India has suffered a horrific collapse that has seen them get reduce from 1-72 to 6-111, with Jack Wildermuth running through their middle-order.

12 runs and a wicket – Prithvi Shaw welcomed Will Sutherland with a flurry of boundaries but the Victorian had the last laugh!
