Ever since the ICC omitted Rohit Sharma while conducting a poll over who plays the best shot in the game, the India opener has been making sure to remind the world that he too is one of the best players of that shot in the history of the game. And there is absolutely no doubt over it.
As of now, no batsman hits more sixes on the pull than him. Since the start of 2015, he has struck 116 sixes playing the pull shot across formats in international cricket. According to a stat from ESPNCricinfo, Rohit Sharma has played the pull shot against 570 deliveries which is about a six every fifth ball.
The batsman with the second most sixes off the pull shot – Eoin Morgan with 47 – has not even hit half as many as the India star. No wonders that the right-handed batsman was not amused with the ICC’s tweet.

And recently, he said it once again that playing the pull shot is like a walk in the park for him. On Thursday (March 26), during an interaction with his India teammate Yuzvendra Chahal on Instagram Live, Rohit Sharma said that he can play the pull shot even after waking up from his sleep.
It was Chahal who first asked his senior teammate to tell him if his power has increased or not as they aren’t doing any training these days due to the lockdown in the country. Responding to Chahal’s question, the star batsman said, “Pull to yaar..tere ko pata hi hai.. bhai main agar nind se bhi uth ke aaunga to maar dunga.”
Here is a clip of that moment:
