Just a week ago, everything looked bright and sunny in the Indian camp. The current side became the first Indian team to win the first game of a Test series in Australia. However, not much went right for Team India in the recently-concluded second Test at Perth.
It got a lot worse with the criticism the team faced for several issues. The first and foremost was their decision to play the game without any frontline spinner. With R Ashwin injured, Ravindra Jadeja was looking likely to play the game after being named in the 13-man squad. However, India surprisingly decided to play the game with frontline pacers. And the move did not yield the desired result. While Nathan Lyon picked up 8 wickets including 5 in the first innings, India had to toil hard without any specialist spinner.
To make the matters worse, India skipper Virat Kohli made the news for all the wrong reasons. After his stunning century in the first innings, Kohli faced severe criticism for his verbal duels with his Australian counterpart Tim Paine. And Australia further rubbed salts to India’s wounds by winning the game by 146 runs and level the series. Batting first, Australia piled up 326 before bowling out India for 283 to take a 43-run lead.
In the second innings, the hosts scored 243 to set India a target of 287. India, however, never looked in contention to chase down the total. They were eventually all out for just 140 in the first session of the final day. And now a video has surfaced that shows that the not all was well within the team in Perth.
The viral video shows Ravindra Jadeja and Ishant Sharma having a heated and animated altercation in the middle of the ground. The two were viciously pointing out fingers at each other before their teammates intervened and brought the matters under control.
Here is a clip showing the fight between Ravindra Jadeja and Ishant Sharma:
