Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma was caught swearing after Trent Boult defended 8 runs in the final over of the game against Kings XI Punjab on Sunday before the thrilling match was decided by not one but two super overs. In the end, KXIP emerged victorious.
Chasing 177, KXIP needed 9 runs from the final over with Deepak Hooda and Chris Jordan in the middle. They collected five runs from the first two balls but only managed three on the remaining three deliveries. On the final ball, Jordan was run-out while trying to complete the second run.
The match was then decided by the super overs. In the first super over, Jasprit Bumrah bowled brilliantly to restrict KXIP to 5. Mohammed Shami was equal to the task too as he too restricted Mumbai Indians to 5 before the second super over took place.
Batting first in the second super over, Mumbai Indians scored 11 runs against Chris Jordan. In reply, KXIP chased down the score in four balls. Chris Gayle hit the first ball bowled by Trent Boult for a six before Mayank Agarwal dispatched the third and fourth deliveries for fours to end the game.
Rohit Sharma caught swearing:
Rohit Sharma, nonetheless, could not keep his emotions in control when Boult defended eight runs in the 20th over. As soon as the giant screen confirmed that Jordan was run-out, an ecstatic Rohit Sharma was seen dropping the ‘B’ bomb. Delighted with the outcome, he was seen saying: “Beh*****d”, in an animated manner.
