Well, it looks like the seven month lay-off has not taken any toll on Rohit Sharma’s batting. While most of his India teammates played their last competitive games in March, the right-handed batsman has not played any game since February 2.
His last appearance came in the T20I series against New Zealand before he was sidelined due to a calf injury. As a result, he missed the ODI and Test series in New Zealand. Rohit Sharma will be finally seen in action on September 19 when his side Mumbai Indians take on Chennai Super Kings in a mouth-watering IPL-opener.
And ahead of the start of the season, the Mumbai Indians skipper has sent out a timely reminder to the other teams that he is in good form and is all set to make up for the lost time. Mumbai Indians, on Wednesday, posted a clip on their official YouTube channel, showing a huge six from their captain.
The six was so huge that it went outside of the ground and hit a moving bus on the road. It was a monster 95-meter hit from Rohit Sharma. The batting star was then even seen celebrating the six as he raised his arm in delight.
Here is the six from Rohit Sharma:
Rohit Sharma eyes extending record:
Rohit Sharma will be looking to guide Mumbai Indians to a record-extending fifth IPL title. He will be keen to make his side only the second team after Chennai Super Kings to defend the title. Last year, Mumbai Indians became the first IPL team to win the title four times.
The franchise has won all the titles under Rohit Sharma. What makes the feat even more incredible is that the four titles have come in only seven years.
