Former Indian batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar as promised came out of retirement to face one over from Australian fast bowler Ellyse Perry. It was the first time in five years that the leading run-scorer in Test and ODI cricket picked up the bat to face a bowler in the middle. And it turned out as quite an eventful one.

He flicked his first three balls down the leg-side, picking a boundary off his first ball. The 46-year old played a square cut off the next delivery. Annabel Sutherland bowled the final two deliveries that went for a cover and straight drive respectively. The very first delivery that he picked a boundary in was misfielded by ground staff, allowing it to go for four runs along the ground.

Below is the clip of the Sachin Tendulkar facing Ellyse Perry:

Ponting  XI amass 104 off their allotted ten overs:

Meanwhile, Gilchrist XI put Ponting XI into bat first and conceded 104 off ten overs. Prince of Trinidad Brian Lara top-scored with 30 runs that included three fours and two sixes. Lara took Andrew Symonds for two sixes in an over that made it 18 off his over. Former Australian captain Ricky Ponting managed to score 26 before being retired out. Courtney Walsh, Andrew Symonds, and Yuvraj Singh took one wicket each.
