Watch: Sachin Tendulkar's Sweet Gesture For His Mother On Women's Day
On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Sachin Tendulkar surprised his mother and wife Anjali with a delicious baingan ka bharta. The legendary batsman is a well-known foodie and is also known for making some tasty dishes. Well, he decided to use his talent to surprise the ladies in his life with a sweet gesture as he prepared the dish all by himself. It was not the first time, Tendulkar had prepared the dish though. In 1990s, he had made baingan ka bharta for the entire Indian team at Ajay Jadeja’s home.
“I wouldn’t be able to comment on anyone else’s culinary skills, but I can cook a decent baingan bharta!,” Sachin had said at an interview a few years ago when asked about the best cook in the Indian team.
Time and again, he has reiterated how his mother used to prepare the dish when he was young and Tendulkar decided to return the favour on the special day. He recorded the whole video of himself preparing the dish and feeing it to his mother before posting it on his social media accounts.
“This bharta is for my mother, Anjali and Sara. I want my mother to taste this first because she spent hours and hours cooking this for me when I was a kid,” Tendulkar said in the video.
Tendulkar then goes to his mother’s room where she was praying. Initially hesitant to disturb her, Tendulkar finally managed to ask his mother to taste the dish. He was later heard asking his mother whether it was spicy.
An anxious Tendulkar then waited to hear his mother’s response before she said: “No, turned out well.”

Tendulkar, meanwhile, retired as the most decorated batsman in the history of the game. He is still the top-run scorer in Tests, ODIs and has the most number of centuries in both the formats.
