Shivam Dube will be one of the players who will garner a lot of attention when India take on Bangladesh in the first of the three T20Is. The allrounder has earned his maiden India call-up for the series after impressing for Mumbai and India A. With Hardik Pandya sidelined due to injury, India are more than likely to play the uncapped player in the first game.

Shivam Dube first came into the limelight in 2018 after hitting five successive sixes in a Ranji Trophy match against Baroda. Royal Challengers Bangalore then splashed a whopping Rs 5 crore at the IPL Auction 2019 to secure his services. In 2018, the 26-year-old batsman slammed 364 runs in five innings in Ranji Trophy at an astonishing average of 91. He had also picked up 12 wickets at an average of just over 16.

He did not have a memorable campaign in the IPL as he managed to play just four of the 14 games. But it did not stop the selectors from including him in the India A side and Shivam Dube totally justified the faith shown in him. The left-handed batsman impressed with two fifties in four innings for India A against West Indies A in the Caribbean, with an average of 60 with the bat.

More recently, Shivam Dube helped Mumbai to a quarter-final finish in the 2019-20 Vijay Hazare Trophy. He scored 177 runs in five innings, remaining not out thrice. He averaged 88.50 at a strike rate of 146.28. The highlight of the tournament for him was the 118-run knock against Karnataka which included seven fours and ten sixes.

No surprises then that all eyes will be on the allrounder if he breaks into the playing eleven. And ahead of the game, Shivam Dube has showed he is ready for the match. The allrounder was in good touch in the nets as he took the bowlers to the cleaners. The BCCI posted the clip on their official Twitter account.
