Watch: Shoaib Akhtar Posts Leaked Video Showing Wasim Akram Criticising Pakistan

Pakistan ended year 2019 with a fine Test series win over Sri Lanka on the home soil but the soon-to-end year has been nothing less than a disaster for them. They started the year with a disastrous tour of South Africa where they lost the Test, ODI and T20I series. It was followed by a humiliating 5-0 defeat in an ODI series at the hands of Australia.
Pakistan’s fortunes did not change when they travelled to England either. Their sojourn in England started with a 4-0 defeat in ODIs against the hosts before they bowed out of the World Cup at the league stage. They finally beat Sri Lanka in an ODI series at home but the joy was short lived. In the subsequent T20I series, the Islanders whitewashed Pakistan in the three-match series.

It led to big changes as Sarfaraz Ahmed was sacked as captain and was replaced by Babar Azam and Azhar Ali a the T20I and Test captain respectively. But it did not make much difference either as Pakistan suffered crushing defeats in Australia. They were thoroughly outplayed in the T20I and Test series by Australia as they returned from Down Under without a single win.

As Pakistan cricket continue to struggle on the field, former bowler Shoaib Akhtar, on Thursday, posted a video on Twitter which he claimed to be a leaked one. In the video, former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram could be seen criticising the old methods Pakistan cricket has been using.
“Those same old methods. To change something, one needs to change the methods and thought process. Do something new too,” said Wasim Akram in the video before adding: “I don’t get it. They talk so highly but there performance is zero.”

While a number of fans agreed with Wasim Akram, there were few who said that it was not a leaked video but just a promotional video. But for the time being, only Shoaib Akhtar and Wasim Akram know the truth and one can know about the truth only in coming days. At the same time, one cannot disagree with Wasim Akram since Pakistan cricket has been really struggling to get going in recent months.
