Watch: Shuvam Dube Smashes Five Sixes In An Over Against Baroda

Shivam Dube is fast emerging as one of the most exciting youngsters in the domestic circuit. The allrounder made his debut just last season but has already garnered a lot of attention with his all-round displays. So far,  Dube has scored 454 runs and bagged 21 wickets, including two tons and two fifers, for Mumbai. His form this year has been even more impressive. The left-handed batsman has scored 489 runs in addition to picking up 17 wickets.

What has further boosted his reputation is his big-hitting prowess. Be it his 110 against Railways or 114 against Gujarat, Dube has decimated opposition attacks with his wide array of shots. With the ball, his figures of 7/53 against Karnataka earned him widespread praise.

Dube is now set to be one of the most interesting players in the upcoming auction for the Indian Premier League (IPL). He has been tipped by many to earn a big deal. And the youngster has done no harm to his reputation as well as his chances of earning big in the auction by smashing five sixes in five deliveries in a Ranji Trophy match against Baroda. His exploits came just one day ahead of the 2019 IPL auction to put every franchise on notice.

He sent Swapnil Singh’s first five deliveries out of the park before the left-arm spinner fired the last ball of the over down the leg side, ensuring that Dube could not touch the ball. Dube was dismissed after smashing 76 off just 60 balls against Baroda. His knock contained three fours and seven sixes.

This is not the first time, Dube hit five sixes in an over. He first did it in the T20 Mumbai league.

Mumbai skipper Siddhesh Lad backed Dube to get a big deal in the IPL, saying:

“Yes, Shivam Dube is a very talented player and we have seen how long he hits sixes. I’m sure IPL teams are looking after him and he will go at a good price.”
