While only time will tell whether Sri Lanka manage to pose a stiff challenge for India in the upcoming Test, ODI and T20I series but looking at the latest video of the Sri Lankan players singing a song, it is safe to say that they will give the Indian players a run for their money even in singing Bollywood songs.

Ahead of the three-match Test series, Sri Lanka Cricket organised the Dialog Cricket Awards 2017 ceremony to felicitate some big names from Sri Lankan cricket. The event was also attended by India’s World Cup-winning skipper Kapil Dev.

But while the star-studded affair certainly was the centre of attraction of the night, the highlight of the event was definitely when the Sri Lanka stars wooed the crowd by singing popular Bollywood number ‘pehla nasha’.

The players including the likes of Niroshan Dickwella, Milinda Siriwardena, Sachithra Senanayake, Akila Dhananjaya sang a couple of Tamil songs before fast-bowler Nuwan Kulasekara started ‘Pehla Nasha’ and was joined by his teammates.

Here is a the clip showing the players singing the Bollywood song:

Meanwhile, coming to the ceremony, veteran spinner Rangana Herath bagged the biggest award of the night – ‘Best Cricketer of the Year’ in addition to winning the ‘Best Test bowler’ award. Kusal Mendis was adjudged the ‘Best Test batsman’ while Dilruwan Perera was announced the ‘Best Test all-rounder’. Mendis and Suranga Lakmal won the Best batsman and bowler award in the ODI circuit respectively. In T20s, Asela Gunaratne won the Best T20 batsman award while veteran fast-bowler Lasith Malinga bagged the top award in bowler’s category.

Tough series ahead:

Dinesh Chandimal & Co. are all set to take on world number one India in their own backyard in the three-Test series, starting November 16 at the Eden Gardens. The Islanders will be confident after winning their last Test series against Pakistan in UAE but will be well aware of the fact that they need to play out of their skin to get a result in their favour against high-flying India who are yet to lose a series under Virat Kohli‘s captaincy and had beaten Sri Lanka 3-0 in the last series.
