Chris Jordan celebrated his latest contract in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in style by taking an absolutely sensational catch in the ongoing Big Bash League. The England allrounder has been picked up by Kings XI Punjab for the forthcoming edition of the IP. Chris Jordan played his maiden season in the IPL in 2016.

He was first signed up by Royal Challengers Bangalore as a replacement player for injured Mitchell Starc. He picked up 11 Wickets from 9 matches in his first season. In the following season, the-then defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad secured his services. He could not play the last season after going unsold but will get a chance to showcase his skills once again in India.

For the time being, he is in Australia and has already made his presence felt with a sensational catch. He pulled off the catch while playing for Perth Scorchers against Melbourne Renegades. Chris Jordon took the catch in the 18th over of the Renegades’ innings. Fawad Ahmed had bowled a half-volley to Dan Christian and the batsman had slogged the ball towards long-on.

It looked like the ball would easily cross the boundary but Jordan had other plans. The England star ran to his right and made a full length dive to take the sensational catch.

Here is a clip of that catch from Chris Jordan:

Perth Scorchers beat Melbourne Renegades:

As far as the game is concerned, Perth Scorchers beat the Renegades by 11 runs. Asked to bat first, the Scorchers posted 196 for 7 in the 20 overs with their captain Mitchell Marsh’s unbeaten 56 runs knock off 22 being the best effort.  In reply, the Melbourne Renegades ended their innings on 185 for 6. Shaun Marsh and Beau Webster scored fifties but it was not enough for the Melbourne-based outfit.
